Can I Please Go Home

So, I am at this supposed rehabilitation center for my amputation. I thought I was going to get physical and occupational therapy here. I guess I was wrong. I have been here nine days and I might have gotten a total of 3 hours of therapy. Most of the physical therapy I have gotten is physical therapy that I have been doing on my own in my room. This place is so sad.

I know I was just bitching about therapy but that’s not all I have to bitch about. The nursing staff and help on the floor suck at their jobs. Personally, most of them are nice enough, it’s just their job performance that sucks. I’ll give you an example.

Yesterday I started bleeding on my forearm just above my wrist. I bleed a lot because I’m on two blood thinners and just a simple tap of my hands or arms against anything can make me start bleeding.
So here I am, minding my own business, and I happe.ned to look down and see blood drops on the floor. I immediately start looking for where on me the blood is coming from. There it was on my left forearm.

At this point the blood had started going down my arm and to my elbow. I looked around for something to wipe my arm with and came up with a face cloth. I wiped all the blood off my arm and looked the scratch. Blood was already coming out and rolling down my arm.

One of the nurses aids just happened to come in and I told him I would need bandages and showed him my arm. He asked how that happened and I told him I didn’t know but I must have hit it on something. He tells me he will be right back with some bandages and that was the last I saw of him.

After 30 minutes I press the nurse button to summon a nurse. At this point the face cloth looks like it lost a fight. There was blood all over it. About 15 more minutes go by and another aid comes into my room and asks me what’s up. I lift up my stm and show him and asked him if he could get some bandages, that one of his coworkers seems to have gotten lost. The aid told me ok I’ll get you a bandage.

Twenty minutes later I’m on a 2nd face cloth and still no bandages. I push the nurses button again. My temper is starting to rise up inside of me

I believe it was another 25 to 35 minutes and 3 pushes of the nurses button for someone to show up with a bandage.

Between this and the lack of what I was sent here for, the physical and occupational therapy that I made up mind. I got to get out of here. I need to go home. My prosthetic guy Max told me could come to me at the hospital or at home. I just have to figure out how I’m going to get up and down the stairs to my unit.
Wish me luck.
